During the first quarter, Croatia maintained its status as the EU country with the highest surge in housing prices, registering a 14.0% increase compared to the same period last year.
Croatia and Cyprus were among the nations where housing prices rose by 2% in the first three months of this year compared to the previous quarter - in the last quarter of 2022, residential properties in Croatia increased by 4.7% on a quarterly basis.
Lithuania and Bulgaria followed Croatia with property price increases of 13.1% and 9.5% at the beginning of the year. Conversely, only six countries experienced a decrease in residential property prices, with Sweden leading with a 6.9% decline.
In the eurozone, residential properties saw a 0.4% rise in the first quarter, while in the EU, the increase was 0.8%, according to statistics. In the final quarter of 2022, prices in the eurozone and the EU were up by 3.0% and 3.6%, respectively, compared to the same period in 2021.
