Bled listed among the world’s most unforgettable destinations

In the latest edition of Lonely Planet's Ultimate Travel List, Lake Bled in Slovenia has been ranked as the sixth most unforgettable destination globally. Recognized for its great natural beauty and the iconic island featuring a picturesque church, Bled is celebrated by the Slovenian Tourist Board as the most photogenic location on the planet. The prestigious list emphasizes sustainability policies, making Bled's recognition even more noteworthy.

Meanwhile, Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, secures its position for the sixth time on the Global Top 100 Sustainable Destinations list, marking it as the only city worldwide to achieve this remarkable feat. The international jury was particularly impressed by Ljubljana's innovative Online Culture project, which showcased the city's vibrant cultural scene during the lockdown. The project involved curating and updating online cultural content produced by various cultural institutions, creating a dynamic virtual exhibition known as CoronaCulture.

The recognition extends beyond Ljubljana, with several Slovenian destinations making it to the Global Top 100 Sustainable Destinations list, including Bled, Brda, the Soča Valley, Kočevsko, Logarska Dolina (Solčavsko), Miren (Kras), Podčetrtek, and Rogaška Slatina. This collective acknowledgment underscores Slovenia's commitment to providing sustainable and enriching tourism experiences across its diverse destinations.
